The Torch Strategic Plan 2025–2029

Brief

The Torch required a Strategic Plan to outline its direction and priorities for 2025-2029.
As a long standing document, the plan needed to balance clarity, professionalism, and credibility for stakeholders, while remaining visually aligned with The Torch’s role as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts organisation.

Strategy

With no formal brand guidelines in place, I drew on prior experience with The Torch and their current external marketing to guide design decisions. The approach focused on clear structure and readability, while using considered colour, artwork placement, and typography to reflect the organisations artistic identity.

Design Execution

  • Created a structured layout for strategic and governance audiences

  • Established clear typographic hierarchy to support readability and flow

  • Integrated artwork and colour to enhance meaning without overpowering content

  • Ensured the document felt authoritative, professional and engaging

VACCA Annual Report 2022–2023

Brief

VACCA’s Annual Report 2022–2023 was a key organisational document showcasing work delivered over the previous year. The report needed to appeal to funding bodies and stakeholders while clearly documenting outcomes, growth and community impact. As a historical record, it also played an important role in reflecting VACCA’s ongoing development and accountability.

Strategy

Created in the period following The Voice, the visual direction was shaped to speak to Aboriginal self-determination and cultural strength. The strategy balanced structure, accessible layouts with artwork and design elements that reflected culture, resilience and community leadership.

Design Execution

  • Led the visual direction as both designer and artist

  • Developed clear, structured layout to support large volumes of information

  • Used artwork, colour and composition to reinforce cultural identity

  • Ensured the report remained professional, accessible and stakeholder focused

  • Balanced narrative storytelling with data, reporting and compliance needs
